The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Rights Program of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking a Researcher. The Researcher will be responsible for conducting a wide range of work, including investigation, report writing, advocacy, and media work focusing on LGBT rights in Africa. The Researcher reports to the Deputy Director of the LGBT Rights Program, based in New York. This full-time position will preferably be based in Africa.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC), one of the world’s largest humanitarian agencies, provides relief, rehabilitation, and post-conflict reconstruction support to victims of natural disasters, oppression, and violent conflict in 42 countries. Since 1992, the IRC has provided life-saving services to refugees and vulnerable local communities in Kenya. The purpose of this position is to support the successful management, coordination & implementation of the GBV protection activities for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, and other (LGBTIQ+) persons in Kakuma and Kalobeyei.
